Maskwacis resident scores $100,000 lotto win

Aug 30, 2024 | 2:42 PM

A Maskwacis resident says spare change led her to a $100,000 lotto win.

Russetta Burnstick purchased a Lightning Lotto and Extra ticket for the June 24 draw, and won on the Extra.

“I scanned it in store and then had the cashier check it for me,” she told the Western Canada Lottery Corporation. “I was just completely speechless; I spent the last of my spare change on that purchase.”

Burnstick says she’ll be putting it towards her education.

“I would like to do some upgrading programs to further my employment. I also want to take a trip with my kids, do some home renos and maybe even upgrade my vehicle,” she says.

“It just feels overwhelming and really good all at the same time.”

Burnstick purchased her ticket from Pigeon Lake Petro Canada located at 2 Village Drive in Westerose. She won her prize by matching the last six digits of the Extra drawn on June 24: 1056077.
