City opens council committee applications

The City of Red Deer is searching for residents who are open-minded, fair and willing to contribute their time and knowledge to volunteer to sit on one of its several boards, committees, and commissions.

Community members are encouraged to submit their application(s) for an open position on one of the following:

  • Housing and Homelessness Integration Committee
  • Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board
  • Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee
  • Library Board
  • Municipal Planning Commission (MCP)
  • Public Art Commission
  • Red Deer & District Family and Community Support Services Board
  • Red Deer Tribunals
  • River Bend Golf & Recreation Society Board
  • Red Deer Regional Airport Authority Board
  • Central Alberta Economic Partnership – Business Representative

Each volunteer position has a different level of commitment and the terms vary in length. Detailed information for each board, committee and commission is available online at www.reddeer.ca/committees.

“We know that there are many Red Deerians that have experience, knowledge and ideas to help shape our community,” said Rebecca Derwantz, corporate meeting administrator. “This is a great way to get involved and contribute to everyday life in Red Deer.”

Applications must be completed and submitted to Legal and Legislative Services by 4:30 p.m. on September 25, 2024. Applications can be emailed to councilcommittees@reddeer.ca; mailed to Committees Coordinator, Legal and Legislative Services, City of Red Deer, PO Box 5008, 4914 48 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 3T4; or dropped off in the mail slot at City Hall.
