Red Deer area sets new temperature record for August 19

The Red Deer area set a new daily maximum temperature record for August 19, on Monday.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a new record of 31. 8 degrees Celsius was reached in the Red Deer area on Aug. 19, 2024, beating the old record of 30.6 degrees Celsius set in 1953.

Records have been kept in this area since 1904.
