Red Deer home sales lower in July and year-over-year

Red Deer home sales were lower in July when compared to the month before and the same month last year.

According to the latest Market Update from Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 177 home sales in Red Deer in July, down from 194 units sold in June and 195 units sold in July of last year.

However, year-to-date numbers show 1,155 units sold in Red Deer during the first seven months of the year, up from 1,140 units sold to the same point last year.

The average sale price in Red Deer in July was $368,621, down from $369,736 in June, but higher than the average sale price of $337,703 in July 2023.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer in July was 30, up from 27 days in June, but down from 41 days in July 2023.

Throughout the entire central Alberta market, the number of home sales in July was unavailable at the time of publishing, as was the average sale price, and average number of days to sell a home.
