Two days set aside for Medicine Hat mayor’s judicial review case

Aug 9, 2024 | 4:44 PM

Lawyers for the City of Medicine Hat and its mayor Linnsie Clark will spend two days in court next week for a judicial review case that could drastically change the course ongoing leadership crisis at city hall.

The Court of King’s Bench in Calgary, where the case is being tried, revealed its schedule for the next five business days late Friday afternoon.

The case starts Monday, labelled as a “reading” and continues into Tuesday, labelled as a civil judicial review. Both days begin in court at 10 a.m.

Council in March voted unanimously to sanction Clark and cut her salary in half after finding she broke its code of conduct bylaw by failing to treat the city manager with courtesy, dignity and respect during a tense exchange in August 2023.
