Red Deer coach to join Paralympics team in Paris
Swimming Canada has announced the list of staff chosen to join the team at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and Red Deer Catalina Swim Club coach Haley Bennett-Osborne is on the roster.
Bennett-Osborne coaches Nicholas Bennett, an athlete heading to the games who trains at the Red Deer Catalina Swim Club. At the Canadian Championships, he took the national title for the men’s 100-metre freestyle multi-class in 52.54, just 0.12 seconds off his Canadian record.
A total of 17 staff members will be attending the event. Para swimming races in Paris will run from August 29 to September 7 at La Défense Arena.
Leading the team will be J-P Lavoie, Swimming Canada’s interim technical and program lead for the Paralympic Program, and head coach Martin Gingras.
