Building permit values continue to rise through July

Building permit values in Red Deer continued to increase in July, with 115 issued permits valued at $17.4 million, compared with 92 issued permits in July 2023 worth $6 million, officials say.
Year-to-date values remain higher in 2024, with current values at $80 million compared with $45 million at this time last year.
Notable permits include:
- Building permit for parkade expansion at Red Deer Regional Hospital, valued at $10 million.
- Building permit for foundations for new cranes and upgrading the mechanical system at 110, 129 Queens Drive, valued at$1.4 million.
- Building permit for building envelope upgrades at 3814, 55 Avenue, valued at $1.15 million.
- Building permit to construct a daycare facility at 4711, 51 Avenue, valued at $360,000.
- Building permit to construct a two-storey detached home at 6228 Cronquist Drive, valued at $315,000.
