Aug 4, 2024 | 9:47 PM

Two people from British Columbia are dead following a motor vehicle collision north of Cremona, Alberta.

Didsbury RCMP responded around 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 3 to Highway 22 at Township Road 303 — four kilometres north of Cremona, 33 clicks west of Didsbury, and about 114 kilometres southwest of Red Deer.

Upon arrival, emergency workers tended to the occupants of one of the vehicles, a Toyota Corolla, but both had died at the scene.

They have been identified as a 76-year-old male and 75-year-old female, and residents of Qualicum Beach.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Ford F350, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP remained on scene for several hours conducting an investigation.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Alberta RCMP express their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
