Ponoka extends drop-in sports programs into the fall

Aug 2, 2024 | 9:00 AM

Ponoka’s Drop-in Sports Program, held at the Ponoka Arena Complex, has been extended into the fall.

Town officials say the extension allows citizens to continue enjoying the following sports and activities on the curling rink surface and the outdoor rink (weather permitting) at the arena:

  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Soccer
  • Floor Hockey
  • Lacrosse
  • Badminton
  • Pickleball

Equipment will be available, or residents can bring their own. Children under the age of eight will require direct supervision.

The program can be accessed via a single-use pass or a 20-visit punch pass for the Arena. Alternatively, a Recreation Pass will give users access to all drop-in programming at both the Arena and the Ponoka Aquaplex (including swimming, water fitness classes, and racquetball). All passes can be purchased at the Arena or the Aquaplex.

For more information and to view the current schedule for drop-in sports programs at the Arena Complex, visit the Town of Ponoka website.

Drop-in sports programming will be unavailable on the following dates: August 2-6, August 10 and August 21-22. The end date for drop-in programming in the fall will be determined in the coming weeks and announced on the Town of Ponoka website at www.ponoka.ca.
