CONGESTION COMMON IN SUMMER MONTHS

Banff visitors encouraged to use Park and Ride program for best experience

Aug 1, 2024 | 2:42 PM

Parks Canada is encouraging visitors to utilize a Park and Ride location on Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive to avoid congestion in the Town of Banff.

Banff National Park is a very popular destination and officials note that parking spots can be especially hard to come by in the townsite during peak summer months. Officials say the potential for congestion and delays at key attractions, day-use areas, parking lots, and on access roads should be expected, especially when the weather is good.

To avoid disappointment and traffic congestion, day-visitors can take advantage of the Banff Park and Ride by parking their car for the day and hoping on a Roam Transit bus to get to popular destinations throughout the park.
