Jul 30, 2024 | 4:20 PM

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a man charged in a Sundre, AB, homicide this year.

Richard Mcculloch, 36, of Sundre, is slated to find out in Calgary Court of Justice from March 3-7, 2025, if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.

It was around 12:20 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2024, when Sundre RCMP responded to a report of a male who’d been shot at a home northeast of Sundre in Mountain View County.

Mounties say life-saving efforts were attempted on scene and the man was taken to hospital.

The victim, identified as 36-year-old Justin Goodhand, was pronounced deceased at hospital a short time later. Police say an autopsy completed Jan. 26, 2024, determined the manner of death to be homicide.

Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit charged Richard Mcculloch with one count of second-degree Murder.
