Shotokan Karate Club holding silent auction to get club competitors to London

The Shotokan Karate Club is holding a silent auction in an effort to raise funds to send competitors to London in September for the World Shoto Cup.

The World Shoto Cup is a globally recognized karate championship that attracts top athletes from around the world to compete in a display of skill, dedication, and sportsmanship. Shotokan members will be representing Canada in the event.

On August 24, residents are invited to head to Bo’s Bar and Stage at 6:30 p.m. to participate in the auction. There will be a special performance from Madisyn Lovelace as well as a karate demo by the Shotokan Karate Club of Red Deer athletes.

Tickets are $10 and include light appetizers. Tickets can be purchased by calling 403-318-8174 or 403-872-8735.
