New doctor recruited to Red Deer

Red Deer has added another new doctor, practising out of Horizon Family Medicine and providing care at Red Deer Regional Hospital.

Dr. Gerhard Louwrens can be reached for a meet-and-greet by calling 403-342-7270.

“It’s a pleasure to announce the addition of Dr. Louwrens to Red Deer and the Central Zone medical team to help care for local residents,” says Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Health and MLA for Red Deer-North. “Dr. Louwrens and his family are a welcome addition to Red Deer, and he is sure to be a great asset to our community.”

Dr. Louwrens received his medical education at the University of Pretoria and practised in South Africa for a decade.

There are now 17 doctors at Horizon.
