Local golfers wrap up competition at 2024 Alberta Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

Robert Mcwilliam of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club finished 27th overall at the 2024 Alberta Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship this week.

The event was held at the Barrhead Golf Club from July 16-18, 2024.

Mcwilliam finished +13 after shooting a 77 in the first round, 73 in the second round, and 79 in the third round for a total of 229.

Other central Alberta golfers who competed at the event included Kyle Morrison of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club who finished 46th overall at +20. Morrison shot an 82 in the first round, 75 in the second round, and 79 in the third round for a total of 236.

Andrew Haakman of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club was unable to make the cut after finishing +17. Haakman shot an 85 in the first round, and 76 in the second round for a total of 161.

Ryan MacDougall of the Lacombe Golf & Country Club, meanwhile, was also unable to make the cut, after finishing +36. He shot an 89 in the first round, and 91 in the second round for a total of 180.
