Red Deer home sales lower in June

Red Deer home sales were a bit lower in June when compared to the month before and the same month last year.

According to the latest Market Update from Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 193 home sales in Red Deer in June, down from 226 units sold in May and 204 units sold in June of last year.

However, year-to-date numbers show 977 units sold in Red Deer during the first six months of the year, up from 945 units sold in the first half of 2023.

The average sale price in Red Deer in June was $370,247, down from $400,990 in May, but higher than the average sale price of $354,514 in June 2023.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer in June was 26, down from 31 days in May and 37 days in June 2023.

Throughout the entire central Alberta market, the number of home sales in June was also lower than May, and in June of last year.

There were 572 homes sold in June throughout central Alberta, down from 632 units sold in May, and 595 units sold in June of last year.

Year-to-date numbers, however, show 2,870 units sold throughout central Alberta during the first half of this year, which compares to 2,544 units sold to the end of June 2023.

The average sale price throughout the region in June was $398,331, down from $410,480 in May, but higher than $366,763 in June of last year.

Meantime, the average number of days to sell a home in central Alberta last month was not available.
