Sylvan Lake and Area Health Foundation gets town council approval

Sylvan Lake’s town council moved to support the formation of a Sylvan Lake and Area Health Foundation on July 8.

As the need for services by the Urgent Care Committee has outpaced the resources of the Stettler Health Services Foundation, a proposal for the formation of a Sylvan Lake and Area Health Foundation was presented to council on April 8, 2024, by Susan Samson, chair for the Urgent Care Committee.

In supporting the formation of a Sylvan Lake & Area Health Foundation, the Town of Sylvan Lake will be recognized as a partner of the foundation.

Samson reported that the desired outcome is to have the foundation implemented and running by the end of 2025.

Officials say the formation of the committee aligns with the Town’s strategic direction to deliver responsible municipal services and infrastructure that support an outstanding quality of life, unforgettable experiences and a strong, diverse economy.
