Japanese students coming to Red Deer this summer
Canada’s leading education service provider for international junior/high school students will be welcoming back students from the Toshimagakaoka Joshi Gakuen High School group in Japan to Red Deer this summer.
Officials with Muskoka Language International (MLI) say the students are scheduled to arrive on July 21 and depart on August 1. During their stay, organizers say they will enjoy a welcome ceremony and be hosted by local families in Red Deer and nearby communities, and take part in a farewell ceremony before traveling back to Japan.
The students’ itinerary includes an educational program at St. Francis of Assisi Middle School and exploring Red Deer’s local attractions. Organizers say they will also have plenty of time to spend with their host families during evenings and weekends.
Participating in “Canadian Life” with their host families is also said to be a highlight for international students, offering them the chance to try new experiences such as outdoor BBQs, s’mores, and Sunday morning pancakes with maple syrup—everyday activities for Canadians not as common in Japan. Officials say the students are eager to enjoy life in Canada.
