Innisfail RCMP investigate theft and damage to oilfield site

Local Mounties are investigating a break-in and theft that caused significant damage over the weekend.

On July 6, 2024, Innisfail RCMP received a report of theft of copper wire from an oilfield site located on Range Road 40 and Township Road 360, west of Spruce View.

Police believe that in the early hours of July 6, 2024, a suspect(s) broke into a gate on the property and proceeded to steal a large amount of electrical cable, causing significant damage to the site. Police say the damages are estimated to be in the $100,000 range.

While RCMP investigate, they are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved.
