Charges are pending following a suspected impaired driving crash in Red Deer early Thursday morning.

On July 4, 2024, Red Deer RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the downtown area of Red Deer.

Upon arrival, Mounties say a thorough investigation was conducted, revealing that the driver involved in the collision was impaired by alcohol. As a result, a 35-year-old male was arrested for impaired operation over the legal limit causing bodily harm.

Police say the individual was subsequently released on an appearance notice. As the charge has not yet been sworn before the courts, RCMP say the suspect’s name cannot be disclosed at this time. Mounties say an update will follow once complete.

Red Deer RCMP say they extend their gratitude to Red Deer Emergency Services personnel for their prompt and professional response at the scene.
