GenNext, an affinity group of United Way Central Alberta, has launched Central Alberta’s 40 under 40, an initiative aimed to celebrate the exceptional talent and leadership of young professionals in the region.

All central Albertans can self-nominate before Sunday, August 11 for a chance to be included in this year’s top 40 outstanding honourees, chosen by GenNext’s nomination selection committee.

“We are consistently awed by the initiative shown by the next generation of local leaders to innovate, inspire, and create positive change,” says Connor Dobko, GenNext co-chair. “As a committee of community-minded professionals in their 20s and 30s, GenNext is thrilled to spotlight those of our peers who are making significant contributions in central Alberta through their professional and personal achievements.”

The selected top 40 honourees will be announced by GenNext in early to mid-fall.

Officials say GenNext brings together dedicated professionals in their 20s and 30s who are committed to shaping the future of the community. As an affinity group of United Way Central Alberta, GenNext mobilizes the energy of a generation by engaging young adults in evolving community issues, creating valuable learning experiences, holding insightful discussions, and implementing hands-on initiatives that drive positive change.
