Artist Aeris Osborne is hosting an artist talk and opening night on July 5, from 6-8 p.m., for the arrival of their exhibit that showcases Alberta’s historical buildings through a blend of painting and and augmented reality.

Hosted at the Viewpoint Gallery, the exhibit will present details of the 1911 Red Deer Cronquist House and Sylvan Lake Stone House. Through the Artivive application, viewers can interact with each artwork to watch as the painting was created, view photos of the interiors and exteriors of each historical building, and more.

Osborne was Alberta’s third Artist in Residence and is a self-taught Hong Kong-Canadian visual artist. For this project, she travelled the province to bring more than 10 impressionist paintings of historical buildings in Alberta to life.

The gallery will be presented until August 30.
