Reading College reaches its teen years

More than 70 second grade students will be heading to the thirteenth year of Reading College on July 1, at Red Deer Polytechnic.

There will be an open house for residents to come and see the work being done on July 11, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will graduate on July 26.

The Reading College is a program hosted by The Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools. For the month of July, students struggling with literacy receive focused reading and writing support to improve their skills.

The program is free for the students to attend. This year, the foundation received a record donation for the program after a successful smile cookie campaign.
