Conditional Sentence for man charged following collision with Red Deer RCMP vehicle
A Conditional Sentence Order (CSO) of 18 months has been handed to a Red Deer man whose vehicle collided with the back of an RCMP vehicle over a year-and-a-half ago.
Nathan Creighton, 33, was sentenced in Red Deer Court of Justice on June 26, 2024, after being convicted on one count of impaired driving causing bodily harm. Charges of dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and a second charge of impaired driving causing bodily harm were withdrawn.
It was on Oct. 28, 2022, at approximately 2:15 a.m., when Mounties say a constable with the Red Deer RCMP was supporting an active investigation in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood when a car collided into the rear of the police vehicle.
Emergency services attended the scene and both the RCMP member and the male driver of the car were transported to hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
