National Indigenous Peoples Day at Red Deer Public Schools

With Friday, June 21, being National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, Red Deer Public Schools has events taking place to mark the occasion.

FRIDAY, JUNE 21 EVENT: INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY

School: Mountview Elementary

Time: All Day

Students across the school will have an opportunity to attend to mini lessons and activities connected to the history of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

SATURDAY, JUNE 22 EVENT: INDIGENOUS STUDENT GRADE 12 CELEBRATION

School: Hunting Hills, Lindsay Thurber and Pines Alternative High Schools

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre

Grade 12 Indigenous students will be honoured and recognized for their hard work and achievements at a community celebration.
