Trial dates scheduled for one of two charged in Red Deer RCMP vehicle ramming incident

Trial dates have been scheduled for one of two people facing charges after a Red Deer RCMP vehicle was allegedly rammed over a dozen times during an incident this spring.

Tia Danielle Kikoak, 27, of Red Deer, is scheduled for trial in Red Deer Court of Justice from March 3-4, 2025.

Her co-accused, Jared Michael Lee McLeod, 30, also of Red Deer, will see his matters return to Red Deer Court of Justice on June 25, 2024.

Red Deer RCMP say it was about 2:30 p.m. on April 26, 2024, when they received a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on the north side of the city.

When members arrived, they tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect rammed the officers’ vehicle, an alleged 15 times.

Mounties say the two suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly arrested.

Tia Kikoak was charged with fifteen offences including:

  • Assault on police officer with a weapon
  • Resist arrest
  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Operation while impaired
  • Fail to comply with release order x2

Jared Mcleod, meantime, was charged with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession for purpose of trafficking
  • Resist arrest
  • Possession of identity documents
  • Common nuisance
