Two charged, RCMP looking for third suspect in central Alberta shooting

RCMP are providing more information into the June 10, 2024, incident in which the Maskwacis RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in Samson Cree Nation.

Mounties say an investigation into the incident revealed that multiple bullets were fired into a residence occupied by several children and adults. The investigation by police led to the arrest of two individuals and the execution of a Search Warrant at a residence in Wetaskiwin. During that Search Warrant execution, police say they recovered prohibited firearms and magazines.

At this time, police are searching for Dorian O’Shea Hunter, 23, a resident Maskwacis in relation to this incident, as he’s wanted for:

• Possession of a weapon obtained by crime;
• Possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition;
• Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized (X2);
• Unsafe storage of a firearm; and
• Failing to comply with a release order.

Trey Littlechild, 24, a resident of Samson Cree Nation was charged with:

• Possession of a prohibited device contrary to an Order (X2);
• Possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized;
• Failing to comply with a release order; and
• Failing to comply with a probation order.

Alyssa Soosay, 29, a resident of Samson Cree Nation was charged with:

• Discharging a firearm with intent; and
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.

RCMP say both Littlechild and Soosay were taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody following a bail hearing and were scheduled to appear in court on June 18, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
