Central Alberta wind speeds hit the century mark during June 11 storm
It was wickedly gusty around central Alberta and in Red Deer on June 11, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
A weather summary issued June 12 indicates the city saw, at some point likely around 5-6 p.m., gusts of 80 km/h.
Bellshill, a small area about 100 km due east of Bashaw in Flagstaff County, topped all of Alberta at 111 km/h.
Gleichen saw 106, Calgary International Airport recorded 98, and Esther, east of Hanna, got to 98 also.
