Three-year sentence for man convicted in Sylvan Lake stabbing
Three years in jail and a lifetime firearms prohibition has been given to a man charged in a Sylvan Lake stabbing two years ago.
Brandon James Ritchie, 30, was sentenced in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench on May 27, 2024, after being convicted on one count of aggravated assault. He was scheduled for a jury trial from May 27-June 4, 2024.
It was on July 6, 2022, when RCMP received a report of a stabbing that had occurred on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake.
Mounties say a 21-year-old victim who had what appeared to be stab wounds, was taken to hospital in stable condition.
