Red Deer District Chamber announces Homeless Foundation Community Transition consultation

The Red Deer District Chamber has announced its Red Deer Homeless Foundation Community Transition meeting, set to take place at the Golden Circle on June 11, 2024.

Chamber officials say the event follows the completion of their comprehensive Homelessness Task Force Report.

Red Deer District Chamber CEO Scott Robinson notes, “This will be an engaging session focused on creating a community-led approach to homelessness and housing solutions. We have gathered top experts to share insights and strategies, including lessons learned from other communities, data-driven methodologies, and key intergovernmental considerations. We are excited to have such high-caliber guest speakers to continue the community discussions around this initiative.”

According to Chamber officials, a key premise driving the taskforce’s priority one recommendation was the recognition of a strong willingness by community and business leaders to step forward and get engaged in addressing Red Deer’s homelessness challenges.

Officials say this workshop is intended to bring together key stakeholders in building the framework for moving a homeless foundation forward in the community. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in focus group discussions, providing valuable input to shape future actions as part of an impactful community initiative.
