Red Deer District Chamber hosts Alberta Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting
The Alberta Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting and Policy Plenary session took place at the Red Deer Resort and Casino on May 25, featuring delegates from across the province as they tackled provincial and federal issues.
“The Policy Plenary is one of the most crucial activities our organization undertakes. For 130 years, our Chamber has been the voice of business, collaborating with all levels of government to support the business community. This year, we were especially proud to highlight our region’s rich history and continue our tradition of strong advocacy,” said Scott Robinson, CEO of the Red Deer District Chamber of Commerce.
The Red Deer District Chamber of Commerce advocated for four key policies that were adopted:
- Regulatory Approval for Heat and Steam Recovery Technologies
- Initial Capital Expenditures
- Increase to the Canada Workers Benefit
- Small Business Rental Tax Rates
