Red Deer emergency crews respond to garage explosion

Fortunately, there are no reported injuries following an explosion in south Red Deer on Wednesday.
On May 22, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to an explosion inside a garage located in the Bower neighbourhood of Red Deer.
Police, along with Red Deer Fire, attended the location and after investigation, Mounties say the cause is believed to be accidental in nature. RCMP say the explosion occurred as a result of using a welding torch near an open gas tank, which ignited the gas vapours.
