The Annie L. Gaetz Elementary School in Red Deer has received an Honourable Mention in the 2024 Read Live School of the Year Awards.
These awards recognize schools whose commitment to literacy education has resulted in greatly improved literacy skills across the student population, as well as measurable gains on literacy assessments and standardized tests.
Celebrating these schools aims to unite communities around educational success says Read Naturally, the organizer of the awards.
They emphasized that students who once struggled to read are now reading confidently thanks to the dedicated administrators, teachers, and community members working to deliver effective, evidence-based instruction through the Read Live program.
