Red Deerians invited to share ideas about downtown parking

Apr 17, 2024 | 11:42 AM

The City of Red Deer is embarking on a public participation initiative related to downtown parking.

Administration says, as part of their commitment to listening and working collaboratively with the community, they are seeking input from residents, seniors, downtown businesses and drivers on what is working well with the new parking system, what the challenges are, and ideas for improvement.

“Whether it’s finding a spot quickly, using pay stations or navigating the new HotSpot app, feedback from residents and the downtown business community is crucial,” said Amy Fengstad, Parking and Licensing Supervisor. “We’re focused on making Red Deer’s parking experience as smooth and convenient as possible, and we’re open to adapting the technology where possible to better meet customer needs.”

There are multiple opportunities for input, including:

  • Online Community Survey: Open through May 3 at reddeer.ca
  • Open House: April 24 from 4 – 7 p.m. at City Hall’s main floor
  • Pop-up engagement / listening posts

Staff are scheduled to be at various downtown locations and events between April 15 and May 3 to engage residents about parking.

More information on the initiative is available at engage.reddeer.ca.
