1. Why are you the right candidate?

I am committed to community building! This is our home and I want all citizens of Red Deer to feel a sense of belonging, to know that they matter, that they are seen. We are in this together!

I am an enthusiast! I have a passion for community, for connecting people from diverse backgrounds and for providing the opportunity for people to experience a sense of ‘place’.

I am an advocate! With my extensive community involvement, relevant education and experience, and participation on various community boards and committees, I know I have the insight and the sense of purpose required to be an asset to my community.

2. What personal priorities for the remainder of this council term do you want to highlight?

My first priority, if elected to Red Deer City Council, would be to express my sincere appreciation to my fellow community members for their trust and confidence and their willingness to give me the opportunity to be their voice on council.

Recognizing there would be a period of familiarization with the council matters at hand, I would make it my personal priority to approach my new role with confidence and humility, demonstrating my willingness to both ‘listen and learn’ and to roll up my sleeves and get to work!

I would look for opportunities to demonstrate my commitment to community using my strengths and diverse skill set both in the short term and in the months ahead.

3. To you, what makes Red Deer special?

To me, Red Deer’s combination of community spirit, natural beauty, cultural diversity, economic opportunities, access to amenities, and strong sense of identity make it a fantastic place to live, work, raise a family or visit. I’m proud to call Red Deer home!
