Red Deer comedian to record ‘so inspiring’ special April 12

Alberta-based comedian and Red Deer’s own Niek Theelen is recording his first comedy special later this month at Craft Beer Commonwealth.

Theelen, who has Cerebral Palsy and has performed across Canada and even in the Netherlands, has dubbed the show ‘Wow! So Inspirational.’

Theelen’s mobility and coordination are impacted by his condition, and people often praise him for being able to complete mundane tasks, calling him an inspiration, he explains.

But Theelen insists he is just living his life like anyone else, hence the very tongue-in-cheek title.
