The Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Kings Hockey team defeated the Concordia University Thunder in game three to sweep the championship final.

Here is a summary of the results:

On Friday, the RDP Kings won back-to-back Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Hockey Championships.

In game three, Chance Longjohn and Erik Miller scored during regulation time for the Kings.

Jaxon Steele, a third year forward, scored in double overtime to help the RDP Kings earn a 3-2 victory and defeat the Concordia University Thunder in the best-of-five final.

Goaltender Arik Weersink made 40 saves, earning the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game. The fifth year netminder was also named the ACAC Men’s Hockey Playoff MVP.
