Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Athletics has announced Jaxon Steele (Kings Hockey) as The RDP Athlete of the Week.

Jaxon Steele – Kings Hockey Program – Bachelor of Kinesiology (3rd year) Hometown – Calgary, AB

Kings forward Jaxon Steele was a difference maker in game three of the best-of-five Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Hockey Championship against the Concordia University Thunder. With the game tied 2-2, Steele scored in double overtime to help the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team earn a 3-2 victory, defeat the Thunder three games to none and win consecutive ACAC gold medals.

Steele, who is a Bachelor of Kinesiology student, was a key contributor during the Kings’ playoff run, totaling six points in five postseason games. He recorded three points in three games against the Thunder in the championship series. The third-year student-athlete also had three points in two games against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings in the semi-finals.
