Accelerating Health Outcomes Through Innovation

Mar 11, 2024 | 2:17 PM

The province’s top healthcare leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs will gather in Red Deer this Thursday to identify tech-driven solutions for the biggest challenges facing Alberta’s healthcare system.

Hosted by Health Cities, an economic development organization in the healthcare industry, the half-day symposium titled “Accelerating Health Outcomes Through Innovation” will take place on March 14 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at The Marquis Room in Westerner Park.

An array of speakers will share their thoughts and opinions to healthcare providers, stakeholders, and policymakers.

“Alberta is facing unprecedented healthcare challenges, which will require unprecedented solutions,” said organizers in a release. “We can accelerate access and outcomes in our healthcare system by coming together and thinking differently. This is more than a conversation; this is transforming collective experience into effective action. What we launch today can make Alberta a future global leader in innovative healthcare delivery.”

Officials with Health Cities state that the Government of Alberta has taken the first step by refocusing the province’s healthcare system around four specialized areas: primary care, acute care, continuing care, and mental health and addictions, with each area facing its own unique challenges.

The program and speakers will be separated into three panels:

  • Modernizing Care: Pathways to Progress: Exploring the landscape of innovations reshaping healthcare delivery, from cutting-edge technologies to ground-breaking models. Guests can discover how these modernization efforts are transforming patient care, easing operational demands, and improving health outcomes for Albertans.
  • Indigenous-led Innovation in Primary Care: Speakers will touch upon the unique approaches, challenges, and successes driven by Indigenous communities, and examine how these experiences are paving the way for improved primary care access for all.
  • Navigating Opportunities in Women’s Health: The session will aim to shed light on the challenges and opportunities that arise in addressing women’s health within primary care settings. From promoting preventative care to tackling gender disparities, the panel will share insights and strategies to enhance access, quality, and inclusivity in women’s healthcare.

Coffee and snacks will be provided.

Attendees can register and purchase tickets on the Health Cities website.
