Town of Ponoka working with RCMP and Cybersecurity experts to address digital network crime

The Town of Ponoka says it has experienced a digital breach of its network by an unauthorized third party.
Officials say the Town acted immediately to contain the breach, has reported this crime to the RCMP, and is working with cybersecurity experts to address the matter.
The Town says it takes the privacy and security of its database very seriously. Officials say a forensic investigation is currently being conducted to determine what, if any, personal data was impacted as a result of this incident. Once the forensic investigation is complete, the Town says any impacted individuals will be notified immediately.
The Town thanks residents for your patience and understanding as they continue working to address the matter.
