Two Calgarians arrested in connection to Ponoka B&E

Ponoka RCMP have arrested two Calgarians following a break and enter investigation.

It was just after 7 a.m. on Jan. 27 when Ponoka RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at a commercial property off 50 Street in Ponoka.

Members, with assistance from Ponoka Traffic Services, responded quickly and arrested two males who attempted to flee the scene on foot.

Joel William Hofer, 35, has been charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Fail to comply with Release Conditions
  • Theft Under $5000

David Andre Letourneau-Janveaux, 30, has been charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of Break in instruments
  • Fail to comply with Release Conditions
  • Theft Under $5000

Both Hofer and Letourneau-Janveaux were held for Judicial Interim Release Hearings, police say. Letourneau-Janveaux was remanded for court on Jan. 30 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin. Hofer was remanded into custody with his next court date set for Feb. 1 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
