Community Builder Partnership Fund supports 2nd Annual Lacombe Days Concert
Lacombe City Council approved a grant of $30,000 from the Community Builder Partnership Fund to the Lacombe Days Committee for their proposed 2024 Lacombe Days Concert.
City officials note, the concert is part of the Lacombe Days festival, a three-day community celebration.
“Lacombe Days is our community’s signature summer event, and council is proud to support another exciting concert at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex,” Mayor Grant Creasey said. “The Community Builder Partnership grant was updated last year to be able to support events like this. With the outstanding efforts the organizers are known for, I’m sure the Lacombe Days concert will build upon its initial success.”
City officials say the Lacombe Days Committee applied for funding support through the Community Builder Partnership Fund, which requires council approval for any request exceeding $10,000. In 2023, officials say Lacombe Days received $20,000 to support the event. The City say the Committee plans to use the lessons learned from last year’s concert to improve this year’s implementation and delivery, as well as to increase its sustainability and reduce its reliance on external funding in the future.
