Red Deer Polytechnic Athletics Weekend in Review
Volleyball and hockey were featured at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre this past weekend. The volleyball teams went a perfect 4-0 against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers with the Kings dropping the only set.
The Kings Hockey team shut out the Concordia University Thunder on Friday night with a 31-save shutout from goaltender Arik Weersink and a two-goal performance from forward Jacob Wozney.
In basketball, the Queens started a winning streak this weekend as they swept the Medicine Hat College Rattlers while the Kings split their weekend series against the Rattlers.
Lastly, the Mixed Curling team went a perfect 6-0 while the Queens finished with a 4-2 record at the Winter Regional in Edmonton. The Kings had a tough weekend but managed to pull off a win in their final draw to complete their weekend with two wins and three losses.
