RCMP find vehicle, identify individuals in car connected to hit and run near Maskwacis

UPDATE – 3 p.m., Jan. 13, 2024

RCMP say they the vehicle involved in a Jan. 7 fatal hit and run has been located, while the driver and passengers in the vehicle have been identified.

Police believe the victim was walking from one home to another along a gravel road when she was hit. A short time later, a passer-by called 911 and help arrived shortly thereafter.

RCMP continue to investigate.

Central Alberta Mounties are seeking public assistance in identifying the person(s) involved in a fatal hit and run involving a pedestrian this week.

On Jan. 7, 2024, at approximately 6:52 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP responded to a report of a hit and run involving a pedestrian. This occurred north of the intersection of Powerline Road and Highway 611 west. Upon arrival, a 24-year-old female was located deceased.
