City council approves rezoning and lane closure application for proposed Ambulatory Care Facility

Red Deer city council has approved a rezoning and lane closure application by Alberta Health Services (AHS) to accommodate a proposed Ambulatory Care Facility next to the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

At their regular meeting on Monday, council approved a land use bylaw amendment to rezone an area south of the hospital from R2 Residential (Medium Density) district to PS Public Service (Institutional or Government) district. Council also approved to close a portion of a lane in the 3800 block between 51 and 52 Avenues. This would consolidate the parcels and closed road area into one site for the facility.

The property is currently being used as a parking lot.
