Red Deer RCMP investigate potential threat at local school

An investigation is underway after a possible threat was made to a Red Deer school Wednesday.
On Dec. 13, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a potential threat to students and staff at Lindsey Thurber Comprehensive High School in Red Deer. Mounties say the threat was not specific but did list a date of ‘Dec. 14.’
RCMP are currently investigating, to determine the veracity of the report.
As a result, RCMP says there will be an increased police presence, with additional officers and patrols. Red Deer RCMP say they are working closely with school officials to ensure everyone’s safety.
