Red Deer Minor Hockey welcomes new general manager

Dec 2, 2023 | 1:53 PM

Red Deer Minor Hockey has announced that after an extensive search, Lane Moore is the association’s new general manager.

Moore’s hiring comes after Dallas Gaume departed earlier this autumn to join the Florida Panthers scouting staff.

“One of Lane’s biggest strengths is his ability to create highly effective teams by building a common mission and vision, then executing on those through visionary leadership,” Red Deer Minor Hockey writes in a statement.

“These attributes shone through during this general manager search, and we are thrilled for Lane to lead this organization now and into the future as we aim to be one of the premier minor hockey associations in the province.”

Moore has an extensive resume, in and out of hockey. He was principal of Bentley School for the last 17 years, and an educator prior.

Hockey coaching dates back to 2002 for Moore, who most recently led the U17AAA North Star Chiefs for two seasons (21-22 & 22-23). He also served as president of Rimbey Minor Hockey for several seasons.
