Lacombe County man charged in fatal crash near Blackfalds this summer
A Lacombe County man has now been charged following a fatal two-vehicle crash near Blackfalds this summer.
Alberta RCMP confirm, the 29-year-old man was charged on Oct. 20, 2023, under the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulations, with fail to proceed safely after stopping.
It was on Aug. 7, 2023, at 12:48 p.m, when Blackfalds RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle on Highway 597 and the QE II.
According to local Mounties, the driver of the motorcycle was identified as a 27-year-old male resident of Blackfalds, who was taken to hospital by EMS. However, police say he died of his injuries.
