Snowfall Warning for Red Deer and surrounding region
A Snowfall Warning is in place for the Red Deer-Ponoka-Innisfail-Stettler region.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Heavy snowfall is expected Monday evening into Tuesday with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm. Snowfall amounts, however, may vary significantly as some of the snow will melt on contact with the warm ground.
Officials say snow will end over central Alberta tonight and on Tuesday for southern parts of the province. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ABstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ABStorm.
