Alberta Ballet brings free youth dance classes to Red Deer

Alberta Ballet is returning to Red Deer with free ballet classes for youth.

The beginner ballet programs are offered at the Northside Community Centre YMCA (6391 76 St).

Officials say they are designed to increase accessibility to the benefits of dance for more families.

Alberta Ballet states the program is coming back to the city after a successful spring pilot that received positive feedback from families.

“Classes help youth to nurture their self-expression; strengthen physical health; connect with new friends; increase confidence and find a sense of belonging in a safe, fun and welcoming space,” said Janis Galloway, Community Impact Officer for Alberta Ballet.
