HotSpot parking system launches today in Red Deer
HotSpot has launched as Red Deer’s new downtown parking system.
Parking meters and older pay stations are no longer in service, so customers will now need to use a free mobile app, described as a fast tap sign featuring a quick scan code, or a pay station to pay for parking sessions in on-street stalls and City owned lots.
City officials say payment is required on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with free parking available evenings, weekends and on statutory holidays.
New pay stations are expected to be up and running by early October and offer multiple payment options, including coins, Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Interac tap. A map of pay station locations is available in the HotSpot app and on The City’s website, www.reddeer.ca/parkingproject.
